I wrote this short story in 2020 for a Creative Writing course that I was taking at Hamilton College. I decided to submit this piece to a contest hosted by the Wilbur & Niso Smith Foundation. Months later, this short story was recognized as a Wilbur Smith Adventure Writing Prize Author of Tomorrow Commended Entry.
